Very interesting beginning, fresh and interesting, very good first impression to the listener!

Good staccato chord leads you put there, same goes for pads and sweeps! Nice decision to put "intro drums" to keep variety at 0:20. As for the voices, well made, all of them are in tone, they don't sound "tense" or forced, and there's no white noise in the recording of it! Very good aswell! :D

0:30-1:03
BOOM! Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, this is something that makes Dubsteps, well, "dubsteps" haha, the classic "explosion" at 0:31. Nice saws and leads, they sound pretty well mixed, the saw doesn't overshadow the lead, and viceversa; i like how the saws sounds agressive, yet they are so warm it doesn't hurt your ears, just like a sharp blade used incredibly accurate (again, my respect to the mastering!). The chord progression is very creative! I was thinking it was starting to get repetitive, but then...

1:04-1:29
...Bam! chord progression changed at 1:04, nice move of your part! Good "bell" sounds to introduce the other chord progression (1 minute and yet, the atmosphere of the song sounds diverse!). Pads pads pads! Good good good mixing there, you didn't lose it yet! :D

1:30-2:00
Juicy way to go back to first chord progression, i say the same thing as 0:06-0:29. :P When it came close to 1:57 i thought: "well, back to the first progression", but NO! Because...

2:01-2:28
...You didn't start it as the first one! And well done in the drums! Implementing real drum sounds was a nice move, also new chord progressions appearing... Not repetitive at all!

2:29-3:02
What else i can say here? I'm crying of joy :'D

3:03-3:29
Let me explain how this part felt, it's like a refreshing bucket of cold water in a very very VERY sunny and hot day. Good "somewhat 8-bit sound thingy" lead you used there. And wait, is that a piano i hear there? Give this man a cookie!

3:20-3:50
"Hold the brakes drums!" Haha i like how the drums stop here. I feel like entering a huge and large heavenly passage as this part starts (thanks to pads). Freshy ending, that fade-out outro makes you "levitate" in your imagination, perfect, just perfect!

Nice mastering, nice vocals, nice song! This song motivated me to do a serious review of it, i added it to favs! So yeah, ZERO! (Just kidding). I agree with what LunyAlex said: "Intimidating NGADM'14 submission." I hope you the best for this contest!

5/5 :P

Acid-Paradox responds:

This is one of these reviews that I'll remember when making music. Thanks for taking the time to write such detailed review.

Cheers!

O.M.G this sounds soo cool and groovy, i LOVE how you used those pizzicato strings! And nice guitar riffs with echo and delay! SINCERELY, ONE OF MY FAVES.

I'd be glad to remix this if possible (with drums and possibly some brasses), but, wow, respect!

It follows a single chord progression, but the fact that it only lasts 2 minutes and you use a diverse variety of sounds, makes 5 starts for me! WELL DONE!

NeoAlchemist247 responds:

Wow, lol. That means a lot comin from you, bro. You wrote the beat for my track that's currently #1 on the Hip-hop Modern chart for this site. Didn't know if you knew that, but there ya go, haha.

SURE YOU CAN REMIX IT! If you turned this into an epic hip-hop beat, that'd be awesome beyond awesomeness. Do it, bro! Message me when you get it uploaded so I can check it out!

Glad I could release something you enjoy so much, man. Keep doin what you do!

Awsome sound design, you never stop impressing me!!! For me its perfect, i cant say anything i disagree here, its totally awsome! Its impressive how you made the arpeggios by yourself, it says a lot about your skills! i envy you now! :D

SkyeWint responds:

Oh, hey there!

"Awsome sound design"
Dude, these are just random preset synths from Morphine. xD Though the rhythmic bounciness of the pad and the main 'lead' coming in at 0:26 WERE done by me, and that mean 'lead' is another preset (from Sytrus though) that I edited some. As for the giant bass pad, that was just another preset... :P

What I DID do was layer all the effects on it in the mixer, which took a good while.

"Its impressive how you made the arpeggios by yourself"
...randomly clicking notes to make an arpeggio is impressive now? Coooool.

"i envy you now! :D"
xD Well, thank you. But seriously, you shouldn't. I really can't do sound design.

Woah nice! What vst you used? how you made this?!? i must know!

Troisnyx responds:

Three words: Fruity Soundfont Player. (And good mixing. I had to learn how to pan the instruments as if we were listening to a symphony orchestra.) A lot of sounds in this came from the Touhou soundfont, although there were some SFs which I sourced from the Audio Forums.

There is a thread on the NG Audio Forums which links you to 800+ soundfonts; that one will come in very, very handy. ^_^

Nooooo!!!! This was so perfect until i heard a lack of bass, im crying now, this beat seems very promising, heck... That is my only complain here :) In my opinion, houses doesnt need so many chord variety, but it could be gighly accepted here. You sound very original, ill keep an eye on you, keep your work!

BuggMusic responds:

Aww, I could add one if you really want. The only reason I didn't was because I'm not very good at making bass, I could try though. Thanks for the review!

Not bad, its nice, but its repetitive, that means: boring, try to change that, the chord progression is the same all over the song, you could use more instruments too, keep your work!

alienchao responds:

Yea, I knew it was repetitive when I submitted it, I just decided to take a risk and submit it anyway. It didn't quite pan out, but I really like this progression so I might try to revisit it in the future. Thanks, though.

Nice, you talk very fluently, you voice is very clean, and yeah, your voice its quite good for voice acting! My only complaint is that you have to put more emotion depending on what are you talking, dont get me wrong, i know this kind of text should be read perfectly as you did, but i barely could know at some point you were saying a question, but these are only minor things, i hope you grow with the talent you have!

Carlyndra responds:

Thank-you so much for your feedback!
Hmm, I have been told that my voice (non-acting) can be a little monotone, so maybe that has something to do with it. I find that sometimes when I try to put a lot of emotion in, it sounds somewhat insincere or fake. Definitely something I need to and will work on.

I did make a second recording adding some more emotions. Would you mind at all to give me your feedback on that?

Thank-you very much once again! Your comment was very helpful =]

This is great, to be a loop, its great! I liked the pads, the lead synth, this is great! You could use more instruments, thats my only complaint here, i cant review more things, im reviewing as it is: a loop. Well done! I really liked your work, its quite enjoyable. Keep your work! :D

HyperTrough responds:

Thanks for the feedback!

Great ambient piece, for me, it has it all! Except, the only thing that i didnt like is that you dont put bass, but in a way, you managed to fill the background with pads, but i think with more bass this could be the piece of the year! This is one of a few ambient songs that i close my eyes and imagine another world! All sounds are well presented, you played with them nicely! Nice effects you used there! This is completely amazing! Added to favs! Keep your work mate, i really like your style! :D

Rinileki14 responds:

"Piece of the year?" Wow XD

Thanks!!! I see what you mean when referring to the bass. I felt adding more bass would throw off the calm nature of the song. (Also, I don't really have any speakers right now, so I kind of have to go off of how everything sounds with different sets of headphones)

Also, you're the 2nd and hopefully not the last person to be able to imagine and see "another world" when listening to this piece (That's awesome!) Thanks for favoriting and I hope to see more great reviews from you!

Well it was enjoyable, but, i didnt like the start, becuase the way you made it, it should stronger. In the drums, they were boring, only 4step floor kick doesnt make the cut, and you used the main synth/lead for the whole song! For me that means: boring... But something that i liked is that you put the lead side to side in the headphones, i liked the bass, but it was too repetitive too... This is enjoyable, ill keep an eye on you, you seem promising! :P Keep your work!

ZxOOxZ responds:

Thanks SO much! Im really working Hard!

I like music, i do electronic mixes for fun, i play the piano too, what else i can say? :D
